DATA METHODOLOGY
How the directory is built.
Telgrapp separates source facts from curated content and preserves stable identities so imports can be repeated without duplicating or erasing editorial work.
Discovery
Apps can be discovered from bounded Telegram MTProto sources and public app listings. The importer is resumable and does not treat absence from one scan as evidence that an app no longer exists.
Identity and duplicates
When Telegram data is available, the numeric Telegram ID is the primary identity key. Usernames, names, and slugs can change and are not used as Telegram identity. Public-listing records without a Telegram ID retain their stable source slug until they can be matched safely.
Source-owned and curated fields
Automated updates refresh source-owned facts such as Telegram username, Telegram URL, verification and safety flags, reported monthly users, source payloads, and synchronization times. Curated name, description, slug, publication status, categories, and screenshots are not blindly overwritten during Telegram upserts.
Public descriptions
Raw source descriptions are retained privately for provenance and are not served as the public About text. Public pages use a restrained summary assembled from recorded facts until an independently written description is available. AI-assisted drafts must be rebuilt from facts rather than sentence-by-sentence paraphrases, pass automated overlap and claim checks, and remain clearly distinguishable from human-reviewed copy.
Categories
A deterministic keyword classifier assigns an initial category to new records only when no category exists. An editorial or administrative category selection is preserved in later imports. Uncategorized is used when there is not enough evidence.
Interface languages
Interface language values are imported from a public listing when explicitly reported. They describe the app interface, not every language the developer may support. Missing values are shown as unknown rather than inferred from the description.
Monthly users
Monthly user figures are reported source data and may be unavailable, delayed, rounded, or change between checks. Telgrapp does not present them as audited financial or usage statements. Popular pages currently require at least 50,000 reported monthly users.
Images
Logos and screenshots are copied to project-controlled storage when available so app pages do not depend on third-party hotlinks. Public filenames use the application slug and descriptive image type, while source provenance remains private. Screenshots retain their full portrait frame instead of being cropped into square cards.
Freshness and corrections
First seen, last seen, last synchronized, and page update dates are kept separately where available. A newer synchronization date does not mean every editorial sentence was rewritten. Unknown or conflicting facts should be corrected at the source or through a future directory correction channel.
For ranking and selection rules, see the editorial policy.
